It is with heavy hearts that we share the news of the passing of one of Nigeria's most beloved comedians and actors, John Okafor, popularly known as Mr Ibu. The Nollywood industry has lost a true icon whose laughter-filled performances brought joy to millions around the world.
John Okafor's larger-than-life personality and unique style of comedy endeared him to audiences across generations. From his iconic role in the "Mr Ibu" series to his memorable appearances in numerous Nollywood movies, he left an indelible mark on the Nigerian entertainment scene.

Initially, he delved into the world of theater, honing his skills as a dancer for the prestigious National Theatre troupe. Arase's early career also saw him treading the boards, showcasing his acting prowess in various stage plays.

It was during this time that fate intervened, introducing him to the esteemed Nollywood actor and director, Paul Obazele, who would become his mentor. Under Obazele's guidance, Arase not only had the opportunity to grace the screen in a few Nollywood productions but also discovered his true calling behind the camera.
