About the Chief Editor

Rebeccah Oluwatoyin (Worship) was born in Nigeria, hailing from the rich cultural heritage of both the Igbo and Yoruba tribes. She proudly holds dual citizenship in Nigeria and the United States, and currently resides in the beautiful city of Galveston, Texas.

A lover of the vibrant hue of Yellow, Rebeccah explains her affinity for the color by saying,
"When you look at plant life, you see that most living things must pass through the color yellow before completely expiring—Grace."
This profound connection to Grace is a reflection of her thoughtful and introspective nature.

Rebeccah attended Sharpstown High School in Houston, Texas, before earning her Associate degree in Arts from Southwestern Illinois College in Belleville, IL. Her upbringing was steeped in the captivating narratives of Nollywood films, sparking a lifelong fascination with African storytelling. This passion led to the creation of the Nollywood Spotlight Blog in 2012.

After a significant 8-year hiatus, during which Rebeccah embarked on a spiritual journey and served in three different churches, she returned to the blog with renewed purpose. Her experiences during this period deepened her understanding of life and human nature. Following the passing of both her parents and grandparents, she came to a poignant realization:
"We all have a good and validated reason to do something wicked to someone. Only a few choose not to, and in turn, we save the next generation from wickedness."
Today, Rebeccah continues to share her love for Nollywood and African storytelling through the "Nollywood Spotlight Blog", bringing the rich cultural narratives of Nigeria to a global audience.
