This ensures that the youth remain actively engaged in farming activities and benefit maximally from the program. With a previous disbursement successfully reaching 10 pilot communities in Damaturu and Nguru local government areas—each receiving $25,000 (N32,500,000) last year—the program continues to gain traction. This revolving loan facility allows communities and farmer groups to expand their agricultural ventures, strengthening their role in environmental management and economic sustainability.
Governor Buni encouraged beneficiaries to utilize the funds responsibly and ensure timely repayment. This would pave the way for further incentives and support from the government.
“We have a duty to join hands to effectively combat economic, environmental, and other social challenges for the betterment of our people and the state,”the governor remarked, underscoring the need for cooperative efforts in tackling agricultural and economic challenges.
