A Star-Studded Celebration of Black Excellence

This year's distinguished honorees include: - Keke Palmer – Recipient of the Renaissance Award for her dynamic impact as a content creator championing diversity, equity, and inclusion. The Emmy-winning actress and multi-talented powerhouse recently starred alongside SZA in One of Them Days and launched her memoir, Master of Me. - Aunjanue Ellis-Taylor and Giancarlo Esposito – Honored with the Excellence in the Arts Award for their groundbreaking contributions to film and television. Ellis-Taylor continues to captivate audiences with her performances, including Nickel Boys, while Esposito, famed for Breaking Bad, gears up for exciting projects like Captain America: Brave New World and The Electric State. - Marla Gibbs – The legendary actress will receive the Hollywood Legacy Award for her decades-long influence in the industry, from The Jeffersons and 227 to her significant contributions to jazz and theater. - Aaron Pierre – Named this year’s Rising Star, Pierre’s career trajectory continues to soar with standout performances in Rebel Ridge, The Underground Railroad, and The Lion King prequel, where he voices Mufasa. In response to the recent wildfires, ABFF Honors will recognize Altadena, a historic California community known for its deep-rooted influence on Black culture, activism, and the arts. Jeff and Nicole Friday, CEO and President of Nice Crowd, expressed their admiration, stating:
“The community of Altadena embodies what we celebrate at the American Black Film Festival – strength, solidarity, and commitment to excellence. By honoring the enduring spirit of this historic community, we aim to showcase Black achievement, inspire creativity, and foster unwavering support for a vibrant cultural future.”
