ABFF Honors 2025: A Night of Excellence and Celebration

Hollywood’s brightest stars gathered for an unforgettable evening at the 2025 American Black Film Festival (ABFF) Honors, where industry excellence took center stage. Hosted by the charismatic actress and comedian Zainab Johnson, the prestigious event took place on February 17 at the luxurious SLS Hotel in Beverly Hills, California. Presented by NICE CROWD, this intimate, non-televised celebration honored Black excellence in film and television.

This year’s ABFF Honors recognized several remarkable talents whose contributions have shaped the entertainment landscape including:
Excellence in the Arts Award (Female): Aunjanue Ellis-Taylor

A powerhouse performer with a career spanning decades, Oscar-nominated actress Aunjanue Ellis-Taylor was honored for her transformative performances. Best known for her role as Oracene Price in King Richard, which earned her critical acclaim, Ellis-Taylor continues to make waves in the industry. She is set to star in the much-anticipated adaptation of Colson Whitehead’s Pulitzer Prize-winning novel Nickel Boys. A master of his craft, Giancarlo Esposito has solidified himself as one of Hollywood’s most compelling actors.
